Places to travel in France

Metropolitan France is made up of many different regions.  There is something for every taste in the different regions of this interesting country. A trip to France could include sightseeing at some of the tiny little villages that make of the landscape.  There is also many dishes and wine to sample in the country.  As a country going back past the 18th century, France has a rich and storied culture that can be seen in the landscape.  The country, and especially Paris is also well known as a mecca for romance.

Villages

There are thousands of beautiful villages in France that offer scenic views.  One example would be the historic village of Chateauneuf de Randan located in the Lanquedoc Lozere region.  This little village north of Mende has a beautiful square that includes some great cafes.   Other villages offer even more scenic views and the opportunity to see historic castles.  Many villages also feature local markets on the weekend.

Wine & Food

France is filled with many places to eat well and enjoy splendid wines.  An illustration of this is the Corbieres region.  This mountainous region located near the Spanish border features rich foods.  These foods pair well with the wines that are made here using the excellent wine grapes.  The area has been known for these grapes since Roman times. The wines are aged in oak barrels and offer a bold, spicy, and fruity flavor.

Art

Art and museums are all around the French landscape.  One of the places to visit is of course the Louvre.  This museum includes world class artwork including paintings, sculptures and exhibits.  A trip to the gardens in Giverny is a must for any art lover.  A visit to this region will show how Monet was inspired to paint his masterpieces.

Romance

Paris is known as one of the most romantic cities in the world.  Think about walking along the bridge over the Seine holding the hand of your partner.  Enjoy a romantic dinner in country that is known for fine cuisine.  There is no shortage of romantic vies to relax and enjoy the company of your loved one.

These are just a few ideas of places to visit in France.  The country is filled of so much picturesque scenery, fine dining, culture, and love.  The possibilities are limitless when you explore the different regions of France.  There is no reason to confide yourself to the most popular areas when France has so much to offer.
